Allen Frank was born in 1944 and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Jewish German immigrants who fled to the United States in the 1930's.He  graduated from Mumford High School in 1961, after which he volunteered with the VISTA program, teaching remedial reading to adjudicated youth at a Job Corps center in rural Oregon.

In 1966, Allen met his soul mate and the love of his life, Judy Klein. They moved to East Lansing, MI, where they raised two boys, Brian and Danny. Having had enough snow shoveling to fill a lifetime, they began wintering in Scottsdale, AZ in the early 2000s and moved there permanently in 2015. Their favorite pastime was “making memories” with their sons and grandchildren, Max, Lev, and Olivia.

Judy passed away in 2019, and Allen continued spending as much time as possible with his family, visiting them in Minnesota and Oregon, and taking trips together in Southern California, New Orleans, England, and elsewhere. To Allen, family was everything.

Allen died March 6, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Judy Klein Frank. Cherished father of Dr. Brian (Shanna Pittman) Frank and Dr. Danny (Angie) Frank. Proud grandfather of Max Frank, Lev Frank, and Olivia Frank. Loving brother of Dennis (Peggy) Frank. Special uncle of Jeffrey (Julie Sturman) Frank and Julie M. Frank. Adoring great-uncle of Ryan Frank, Zachary Frank, and Gilana Frank. Devoted son of the late Jack Frank and the late Gretl “Oma” Frank.

A Shiva minyan will be held at Allen's home in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 10, and a memorial gathering will take place in East Lansing, Michigan at a later date.
