Adrienne Schon Finkelstein passed away at 80 years old on January 24, 2024 at her home in Valencia. Born and raised in Detroit by her loving parents, Isadore and Sylvia Schon, she grew up with her older sister, Harriett, and her younger brother, Larry. She met the love of her life, Sid, in 1963, married in 1966, and grew their family first with the birth of Robyn in 1967 and then Sheri in 1969.
In 1981, Adrienne and Sid moved the family to Southern California to escape the frigid Michigan winters. In 1983, they purchased a vacation home in Palm Springs and spent time there every chance they got.
She worked as a word processor at a tax firm in Universal City, which eventually lead her to become Sid’s assistant when he started his own tax service in 1987.
In 1993, she welcomed son-in-law David Rabotnick to the family. David and Robyn made Adrienne a grandmother with the birth of Joshua in 1994. Robyn and David gave her a second grandson in 1997 when Jason was born. She proudly attended the wedding of Sheri and Dino (Madrid) in 1999, and welcomed grandson number three, Alex, in 2001.
In 2022, she finally got the granddaughter she always wanted when first grandson, Joshua, married Maggie.
Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader, diligently kept a daily log since 1970, and enjoyed traveling. She especially loved her trips with Sid to Las Vegas, Hawaii and the numerous cruises they took together.
She is loved by many, and will be sorely missed.
A funeral service for Adrienne will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Groman Eden Mortuary, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a charitable donation be made to https://slowmotionmagic.org in memory of Adrienne.
