Michael Salamy

Mike D Salamy, Greene County Deputy Sheriff retired, was born to Rose Haskell and Sam Salamy, March 5, 1943. He passed away peaceful May 7, 2020 in his home in Springfield, Missouri. Mike leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Dortha Salamy, his twin sister, Mimi Hall, his children, Cindy and Ralph Washum, Joseph and Caryn Salamy, Melinda Salamy, Beckie and John Lillard, Freeman and Trista Wilson, Ronnie and Carol Wilson, also 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mike went to Post then Cooley then transfered to Mumford.

He was a member of the ROTC

Let me comment on my friend Mike.  I attended a birtday party of his many many years ago.  His dad took a small group of us to see "Twelve Angry Men" so it must have been around 1957.  We had cake at his modest home, it may have been an apartment.  I remember that he had acomplete set of an encyclopedia, but more than that, for the first time, based on his home, it occurred to me that some people did not have the priviliges I enjoyed and, of course,  took for granted.    RIP Mike

Looked in our yearbook and found Michael was active and is pictured in the Mumford ROTC photo.
