McCullough (not sure of the spelling),

Graduated from Wayne State University Law School and practiced law in Southfield Michigan until 1981. Robert Bayer (deceased) and Henry Gornbein (both members of Mumford Class of 1961) and I were partners. Ellen and I and our 3 children spent the summer of 1982 in Jersaleum and then we moved to San Diego, California where I began investing in and developing real estate. Over the years my business group has accumulated more than 70 self storage facilities throughout the United States and owns interests in a number of related businesses.

While I did not play tennis at Mumford, in the late 1980s I played competitive tennis and ranked in the top 10 in Men's 40s singles in San Diego, California. I no longer play competitively and spend more time with golf, a far more frustrating but physically less demanding sport.

I have written a number of short stories,which have been nationally and internationally published. Two of my short stories have achieved national and international recognition.

I enjoy light running and serious physical training workouts.
Other activities I enjoy include reading, music (classical to country) and off and on playing the piano.

Ellen is a very creative landscape designer and gardener. I enjoy assisting her in her efforts around our home. We have 40 fruit trees, and an extensive rose garden. Ellen designed and constructed a garden stone and grass stairway in the manner of the Lutyens steps found in Christopher Lloyd's gardens in his Great Dixter Estate, Sussex, England for the front entrance for our home. After her design work was completed, it took 4 months to execute.

I collect significant antique clocks from America and Europe, two of which are important historical horological markers.

Ellen and I care for our plentiful Koi in our Koi and water plant pond and care for our very spoiled female Kuvsaz, a large white, long haired dog.
I enjoy traveling with Ellen and we have been to Europe, Canada, Israel, and many parts of the United States, including a cruise to Alaska this past July to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary.

2022 through 2023 has been a year of accomplishment and recognition. My screenplay MIXED SPIRITS is a winner from New York to Los Angeles and From London to India being awarded BEST DRAMA SCREENPLAY in 14 FILM and ART FESTIVALS.

Most recently my MIXED SPIRITS Screenplay won First Place in the prestigious Los Angeles SILVER MASK LIVE FESTIVAL. Other 2022 -2023 wins include San Diego Art Film Festival, WRN TV Screenplay Competition, Gold Star Movie Award, LA Independent Film Channel Festival, and New York Stardust Films and Screenplay Festival.

Of most significance to me are certain friendships that have lasted my life timetime: Michael Berke and I were best friends from age 9 and remain close today. Dick Lenter, Jerry Rosenthal and Marty Portnoy are all very special to me. Ellen Teal and I have created and are sharing a lifetime.

As a group we spent many fun times at Sam Meklir's parent's house with Skip Snover, Barbara and Gail and Gary Meklir and an always expanding collection of friends from AZA and BBG. Sam owned an old hearse that we we toured with on Woodward Ave.
